“Where the memory of Hellas remains”

Cesare Sofianopulo

Alice Psacaropulo lived on the top floor of the elegant neoclassical villa at Via Commerciale 47 — Villa Margherita.
Designed by one of the most distinguished architects of the period, Giovanni Berlam, and built in 1856 on one of the most scenic hills of Trieste, the villa was purchased in 1895 by Alice’s grandfather, Luigi Cambiagio.
In 1925 it passed to Margherita Cambiagio, née Psacaropulo, and today it preserves a rich collection of artworks, Alice’s atelier, her library, and the family archive.
